This is a difficult time for all of us, so we hope that you are doing what you can to take care of yourself, your loved ones, and your community, from a distance. During this time, it is even more critical that we lean on our core Democratic values of kindness, equality, and service, to guide us through this crisis, together.
Despite all that is going on in the world, we know there is still work to be done to ensure that we elect Democrats up and down the ballot this November. We want you to know that, now more than ever, the BPI is committed to continuing this work.
Below you will find more information on our many training opportunities that are free, ongoing, and 100% virtual. Our webinar trainings will include content tailored toward campaigning from the lens of our ever evolving reality, as well as the foundational best practices that guide our work in less uncertain times.
In doing so, we are working to build our infrastructure so that we are ready to meet these challenges now, and when these unprecedented times are past us. Thank you for being a part of our team.

April Activist Challenge
Our monthly Activist Challenge is designed to build infrastructure for Democratic campaigns and organizations through grassroots engagement. Are you ready to accept the challenge, and help elect Democrats up and down the ballot?!
Your April Activist Challenge: During this time of social distancing, we want to encourage Democrats to find a way to build community. Despite physical distance, there are still many ways that Democrats can work together to move our Party forward. This month, we are challenging activists to work with their local Democratic Party organizations to create a space for virtual engagement. As always, if you need help contacting your local organizations, reach out to your State Party. Below are a few ideas to get you started.
- Social Media Engagement:
- Work with your local party to create a survey that asks voters what issues they care about most on Facebook
- Retweet some local leaders on your Twitter account
- Post a “selfie story” about how you’re helping Democrats in the age of social distancing on Instagram or Facebook (learn some best practices by watching How to perfect your selfie video: A DNC Video Training first!)
- Virtual Informational Sessions:
- Host a virtual update from a local elected official
- Organize a tele-town hall with a local candidate
- Work with your state party to conduct a virtual voter registration training
- Virtual Social Events:
- Create a virtual book club
- Host a local dems virtual happy hour
- Organize a local candidate meet and greet
- Free tools for digital engagement:
- Bonus: Think of another creative engagement idea? Tell us about it at firstname.lastname@example.org!
- Once you’ve completed the challenge, take a selfie and create a post on social media that includes the following information:
- Your name
- Your state
- A short statement about what motivates you to help elect Democrats in 2020
- The hashtags “#BPItraining” and “#ChallengeAccepted”
- And don’t forget to tag “@TheDemocrats”
