4 Days to Election Day and AAPI Voters Across the Country are Energized!

We have 4 days left to Election Day and AAPIs are voting in historic numbers across the country! In states like North Carolina, Texas, and Georgia, AAPIs have already exceeded their turnout from 2016, and there is still time to vote early. This weekend, we will make sure that AAPI voters in Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania are also voting in droves to make sure that Joe and Kamala win on Tuesday! These three must-win Blue Wall states are our clearest path to the White House, and whoever carries them will win. So join us and make these last 100 hours count!

Join us as we engage with AAPI voters in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin on the last days leading up to Election Day. Volunteers will make contact with voters in these pivotal Midwestern states through phonebanks and textbanks. We will need all the help we can get to make sure that we are turning out as many voters in these states as possible, so we look forward to working with you to rebuild our Blue Wall and to elect Democrats up and down the ballot!

Marylanders are coming to the rescue! Volunteers from across Maryland will be making calls this weekend to key battleground states to make sure that we are turning out AAPI voters to the polls. Former Gov. Martin O'Malley will join us as we make every effort to flip Michigan and Pennsylvania for Joe!

Go Canvassing in Montgomery & Bucks County, Pennsylvania!

Pennsylvania is THIS CLOSE to flipping blue and we need your help! The campaign there needs canvassers for the last weekend through Election Day. If you're coming from DC, MD, DE, NJ, NY, or CT, the biggest needs are in Bucks County and Montgomery County which are close to Philadelphia.

Once you sign up for a canvass, you'll be connected to choose one of their nightly 7 PM trainings where you'll learn more about the conversations we’re having with voters, learn how to use the phone app to track responses, and precautions for COVID 19. Please make sure to attend one before your first canvass shift.

If you want to fight the good fight but don't want to go it alone, we got you!  There's a group heading over from NJ and if you'd like to coordinate with us, feel free to email Ginny Barahona at!

Dear Democratic Disability Advocates,

We have waited four years to correct the course our nation has been on, and in just five days we have the opportunity to do it. On Monday night please join the Democratic National Committee Disability Council for a conversation with Valerie Jarrett about strategies for turning out disabled voters and protecting our access to the ballot. During the Obama administration, she served as the Senior Advisor to the president, and I always found her to be a solid ally of the disability community, fighting for us at every turn.

On the eve of Election Day Vallerie Jarrett will join us to talk about the importance that our community has for electing Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and Democrats across the country.

Can I count on you to join us? Please see the registration information for this free event below. Together we can have a positive impact on this election and win!

Toward victory,

Hon. Tony Coelho
Chair, DNC Disability Council

Ahead of Trump’s Visit to Tampa,
DNC Unveils Mobile, Digital Billboards Slamming the Trump Administration’s Failed COVID-19 Response

Today, the Democratic National Committee is unveiling new billboards in Tampa ahead of Trump’s event at Raymond James Stadium, highlighting how Trump’s failed coronavirus response has hurt Floridians -- leading to more than 16,500 Floridians’ deaths and more than a million lost jobs in the state.

The DNC is deploying a mobile billboard that will reach voters by circling the area around and near Raymond James Stadium ahead of his event, and a digital billboard that is located two miles south of the stadium.

“We’re delivering a message to voters in Tampa they won’t be able to miss: Trump’s failed, incompetent coronavirus response has cost too many Floridians their lives and livelihoods,” said DNC Chair Tom Perez. “Even Donald Trump’s own administration admits he’s given up on trying to control the coronavirus -- and to make matters even worse, he’s still trying to take away health coverage, even in the middle of a pandemic. Floridians of every political persuasion will hold him accountable for this record of failure and his years of broken promises by following through on their plan to vote and making him a one-term president.”

Images of the billboards are below:

1. NEW: Trump Gives up on Trying To Control COVID as U.S. Hits Record for Cases

2. NEW: On “60 Minutes,” Trump Shows He Has No Health Care Plan

3. Senate Vote on Nomination of Amy Coney Barrett

4. 8 Days Until Election Day, 60+ Million Votes Have Been Cast

1. NEW: Trump Gives up on Trying To Control COVID as U.S. Hits Record for Cases

  • Yesterday, Mark Meadows admitted that Trump is “not going to control the pandemic.” Trump refuses to lead and has given up on protecting Americans, leading to a third wave and record high new cases.

    • This was not a slip by Meadows: it’s the truth. Trump has no plan other than endangering Americans by lying and downplaying the virus.

    • The U.S. just hit a record-high seven-day average of new cases, and set a record for the number of daily cases on Friday, with more than 85,000 reported.

    • Hospitalizations have risen 40% in the last month, with 14 states hitting records.

    • A new study finds the U.S. could have avoided at least 130,000 deaths if Trump’s administration had responded to COVID like other countries did.

  • It’s no surprise that the coronavirus continues to rage unchecked across the country and even in the White House itself.

    • Pence, the head of the White House coronavirus task force, has an outbreak in his office with at least five members of his inner circle testing positive, but refuses to follow CDC guidelines to quarantine.

2. NEW: On “60 Minutes,” Trump Shows He Has No Health Care Plan

  • On “60 Minutes,” Trump revealed yet again that he has no health care plan other than tearing coverage away from tens of millions of Americans and stripping protections from as many as 133 million Americans with preexisting conditions.

    • Even during a pandemic in which an estimated 12 million people have lost their health insurance, Trump wants to undermine protections for cancer survivors and people with complications from COVID-19.

  • Trump gave no details of his health care plan — because it doesn’t exist. Instead, Trump doubled down on Republicans’ lawsuit before the Supreme Court to overturn the Affordable Care Act, saying “I hope that they end it.”

    • If Trump and Senate Republicans succeed in their rushed power grab, Barrett would hear the case in just two weeks and could cast the deciding vote to overturn the ACA.

3. Senate Vote on Nomination of Amy Coney Barrett

  • Senate Republicans are rushing a Supreme Court nominee to take health care away from millions of Americans and overturn Roe v. Wade.

    • More than 60 million Americans have already voted — voters deserve a say in who selects a successor to Justice Ginsburg.

  • Barrett’s record makes clear she would likely vote to strike down the Affordable Care Act and Roe v. Wade, stripping health care from millions.

    • If Trump succeeds and Barrett helps overturn the ACA in a case being heard in two weeks, over 20 million people could lose their health insurance and as many as 133 million with preexisting conditions will lose coverage protections.

  • The vast majority of Americans think Republicans in Congress should be focused on COVID relief for struggling families rather than this political and rushed power grab.

4. 8 Days Until Election Day, 60+ Million Votes Have Been Cast

  • With 8 days until November 3, more than 60 million voters have already cast their ballotsmore than 40% of the total ballots cast in 2016 — and millions more are voting every day.

    • 25% more early votes have been cast than in 2016.

  • Voters should go to today to check your registration status, learn what choices you have to cast your ballot, and find out where and when to vote.

  • Democrats have out-registered Republicans across the country and in battleground states like Arizona and Ohio since 2016.

    • Today is the deadline to register to vote in Colorado to receive a ballot in the mail and in Washington.

      • Voters in Colorado and Washington can also register when voting early or at the polls on Election Day.

  • Democrats have a lead in ballots cast — millions more Democrats have voted than Republicans so far.

    • Democrats lead in early votes cast in battleground states: Pennsylvania by 46%, Michigan by 24%, Wisconsin by 22%, Arizona by 16%, North Carolina by 14%, and Florida by 12%.

    • In Texas, voter turnout is already more than 80% of 2016’s total, with more Asian Americans casting ballots than in all of 2016.

    • In Georgia and Texas, more Black seniors have already voted than voted in all of 2016.

    • Today is the first day of early voting in Maryland.

    • Tomorrow is the deadline to request a mail-in ballot in North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Arkansas, Kansas, New York, Oklahoma, and Tennessee.

  • The Biden campaign has launched the biggest voter protection program in history: thousands of staff on the ground, lawyers, and poll watchers throughout the states to ensure every eligible voter can vote.

“We Are Not Going To Control The Pandemic:” In The Battlegrounds, Trump Slammed For Surrendering To COVID-19

Following Mark Meadows’ admission on CNN that the White House is “not going to control the pandemic,” Democrats across the battleground states slammed Donald Trump’s incompetent response to COVID-19, which has resulted in over 8.6 million U.S. cases and more than 225,000 deaths.

See for yourself:

In Arizona:

Dr. Davis Romney: “While Arizona communities are still suffering from the terrible toll the pandemic has already taken, Trump’s White House is openly admitting they are giving up on containing the coronavirus. To further underscore this administration’s failure of leadership, Mike Pence is out recklessly campaigning despite a coronavirus outbreak within his innermost circle. Arizona’s small businesses and families are facing difficult challenges as case counts and other metrics rise across the state. It didn’t have to be this bad, but Trump failed to lead and now Arizonans are paying the price. Arizona families deserve leaders who will fight for them and help them build back better. The only way we will recover from Trump’s failed leadership is to vote early for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.”

In Michigan:

Michigan Democratic Party Spokesperson Christian Slater: “Mark Meadows just admitted what Michiganders already knew: Donald Trump has surrendered to COVID-19 and is making us suffer the consequences. Now, because of that surrender, cases in Michigan are reaching record highs and hospitals are hitting maximum capacity. It didn’t have to be this bad, but from day one of this pandemic Trump has shown nothing but reckless disregard for our lives as he lied to us and attacked any measures for addressing the deadly disease. Michigan needs leaders like Joe Biden and Gary Peters who take this pandemic seriously and will take the steps necessary to get it under control.”

In Minnesota:

DFL Party Chair Ken Martin: “It’s absolutely unacceptable that as Minnesotans continue to get sick and die from COVID-19 that the Trump White House has completely given up on doing their jobs to fight for the American people. As Joe Biden put it, President Trump said we’re learning to live with this virus. No, we’re dying with it.  At the time of the last debate, America was averaging about 40,000 new cases a day.  Now we’re seeing nearly 70,000 new cases a day — and the White House has admitted that ‘We are not going to control the pandemic.’ Minnesotans deserve more than a president who gives up when the going gets tough, and voters across Minnesota will hold Trump and his failure of leadership accountable for the next nine days as we vote in droves for Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and DFLers up and down the ticket.”

In Nevada:

Nevada State Democratic Party Spokesperson Madison Mundy: “Mark Meadows’ statement that the Trump White House is giving up on controlling the pandemic is a slap in the face to Nevada families who are still reeling from this crisis. As the Trump administration admits defeat, hundreds of thousands of Nevadans are out of jobs and wondering how they’ll make ends meet, while more than 1,700 have lost their lives to the virus. To make matters worse, cases are once again surging in Nevada and across the country. Meanwhile, Trump sabotaged coronavirus relief negotiations to get Nevada families the help they need to make it through this crisis and is instead spending his time attempting to overturn the Affordable Care Act. Nevadans deserves better than Trump’s backwards priorities and in just nine days, they’ll send leaders like Joe Biden and Kamala Harris to the White House to get this crisis under control.”

In Wisconsin:

Democratic Party of Wisconsin Spokesperson Philip Shulman: “Trump and his administration are just saying what we already know: that they have completely given up on trying to get this pandemic under control, even as Wisconsin sees its hospital capacity pushed to the brink by skyrocketing cases of COVID-19 infections and deaths. Even though Trump exacerbated this crisis, he is still trying to strip protections from the 2.4 million Wisconsinites with pre-existing conditions and rip away health care from the 150,000 people who get their health care through the exchange. The only way we will get out of this catastrophe is by electing Joe Biden and Kamala Harris to the White House on November 3rd.”

Congresswoman Deb Haaland smiling in front of the U.S. Flag and the New Mexico state flag.

Congresswoman Haaland grew up in a military family; she knows the sacrifices made by military families because her family moved throughout the country during her father’s military service; as a result, she attended 13 different public schools.

As a single mother, she volunteered at her daughter's pre-school in order to afford an early childhood education. Like many New Mexicans, she had to rely on food stamps at times as a single parent, has lived paycheck-to-paycheck, and struggled to put herself through college. Through hard work and determination, she earned degrees from the University of New Mexico and UNM Law School. Congresswoman Haaland and her daughter, who recently graduated from the University of New Mexico, are still paying off student loans.

Deb successfully advocated for the Laguna Development Corporation to create policies and commitments to earth-friendly business practices. Deb is a former tribal administrator and has administered a local service provider for adults with developmental disabilities.

After a lifetime of organizing communities to stand up for New Mexico families,   Congresswoman Deb Haaland was elected as one of the first Native American women to serve in Congress.

Trump Isn’t Even Trying To Control The Pandemic That Continues To Surge To Record Highs

Mark Meadows admitted this weekend that the Trump administration is not even trying to control the pandemic, which has been obvious as new cases once again hit record highs. Trump continues to flout public health guidelines and hold potential superspreader events that have already likely led to new outbreaks — and there’s even a second one in Trump’s own White House.

Trump’s failure to control the pandemic has led to new daily cases hitting record highs and will continue to make this crisis even worse.
MEADOWS: “We are not going to control the pandemic.”

CNN: “The latest surge of Covid-19 infections has pushed the seven-day average of new daily cases to heights not seen since the pandemic began. The seven-day average of new cases hit 68,767 on Sunday, topping the previous peak of 67,293 reported on July 22. The two highest single days of new cases were Friday and Saturday, with more than 83,000 new cases added each day.”

CNBC’s Carl Quintanilla: “MORGAN STANLEY: ‘Our updated base case forecasts up to ~130K daily cases’ by year-end.”
Trump is trying to sell an alternate reality to voters even as the White House goes through its second coronavirus outbreak.
Politico: “President Donald Trump is heading into the final nine days of the 2020 election with a new nationwide explosion in coronavirus cases and a second outbreak in the top ranks of his own White House — all while he tries to sell an alternate reality to voters.”

New York Times: “But just seven hours later, the White House made its own Covid headlines when officials acknowledged that another coronavirus outbreak had struck the White House, infecting Vice President Mike Pence’s chief of staff and four other top aides — and raising new questions about the Trump administration’s cavalier approach to the worst health crisis in a century.”

Trump continues to flout public health guidelines and hold crowded rallies that have already likely led to coronavirus outbreaks across the country.
Bloomberg: “President Donald Trump is forging ahead with a breakneck pace of rallies in battleground states during the final days of his re-election campaign, defying public-health guidelines as a wave of new coronavirus cases smacks the U.S.”

USA Today: “As President Donald Trump jetted across the country holding campaign rallies during the past two months, he didn’t just defy state orders and federal health guidelines. He left a trail of coronavirus outbreaks in his wake. The president has participated in nearly three dozen rallies since mid-August, all but two at airport hangars. A USA TODAY analysis shows COVID-19 cases grew at a faster rate than before after at least five of those rallies in the following counties: Blue Earth, Minnesota; Lackawanna, Pennsylvania; Marathon, Wisconsin; Dauphin, Pennsylvania; and Beltrami, Minnesota.”
Dear Friends and Colleagues,

We are 8 days away from the 2020 general election. Join us for a virtual fireside chat with former U.S. President Bill Clinton and UnidosUS Action Fund President Janet Murguía tomorrow on Tuesday, October 27 at 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. ET to discuss the importance of the Latinx vote and its impact on the future of America. Mickey Ibarra, President and Founder of the Ibarra Strategy Group, will serve as the moderator.

More than 22 million Americans have already cast ballots in the 2020 election, a record-breaking number of early votes driven both by Democratic enthusiasm and a pandemic that has transformed the way the nation votes. For the first time, Latino eligible voters will represent the largest minority, accounting for 13.3% of the electorate, compared to 11.9% in 2016. It's more important than ever to make our voices heard and our vote count.

8 Days to Election Day and Our Last Chance to Mobilize AAPI Voters!

We are down to 8 days before Election Day when we can send Joe Biden and Kamala Harris to the White House and elect Democrats up and down the ballot across the country! Almost 60 million Americans have voted, but this is not the time to sit back and let up the pressure. Help us make a last push effort in the key states of MI, WI, and PA to make sure that AAPI voters are going out to vote. Additionally, we have been dreaming about it for years, but it could finally happen this year: help us flip TX by getting hundreds of thousands of AAPI voters to early vote before the deadline! Join us on this final week of the campaign and celebrate with us when we win next Tuesday!

Join us as we engage with AAPI voters in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin on the last days leading up to Election Day. These days are critical to making sure that AAPI voters are turning out to vote early either in-person or by mail.

Help us make a last push to reach AAPI voters in Texas to get them to the polls to vote early! The AAPI vote will be crucial in making sure that we flip Texas this year for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. Join us and let's get the vote out to elect Democrats up and down the ballot in Texas!

RE: Trump’s Closing Admission: He Wants to Repeal Health Care for Millions

Throughout his presidency, Trump has worked tirelessly to sabotage Americans’ access to health care by trying to eliminate the Affordable Care Act. Under his watch, drug prices continue to soar and fewer Americans are insured. And now, he's rushing to confirm a Supreme Court nominee who will undoubtedly support his administration's legal battle to eliminate the Affordable Care Act. So it’s no surprise that when interviewed by 60 Minutes, he said the quiet part out loud — "I hope that they end [the Affordable Care Act], it will be so good if they end it."

Despite years of claiming his health care plan is just “two weeks” away, the truth is, Trump’s only plan is to take health care away from tens of millions of Americans and eliminate protections for as many as 133 million people with preexisting conditions. That’s the whole plan. And to make matters worse — he’s stayed the course on this disastrous route even in the middle of a pandemic that has led to over 225,000 deaths and infected more than 8.6 million people, many of whom now live with preexisting conditions.

The American people have made it clear that they want a president who will ensure more people have access to quality, affordable health care. But at every step of the way, Trump has fought to undo the progress of the Affordable Care Act when Americans need it most.

Despite the pandemic, Trump has continued his reckless effort to terminate the Affordable Care Act, putting health care coverage and protections for people with preexisting conditions at risk when they’re most needed.
  • Trump has promised to repeal the Affordable Care Act since he started his campaign.
  • Even a pandemic that has sickened millions of Americans and killed over 225,000 has not deterred Trump from his attempt to overturn and sabotage the Affordable Care Act.
  • The ACA has been a lifeline during the pandemic, and many coronavirus patients experience long-term complications that could qualify as preexisting conditions and lead to denied or more expensive coverage if Trump’s lawsuit succeeds.
  • Trump’s lawsuit to overturn the ACA threatens to end the Medicaid expansion program that brought coverage to 12 million Americans, improved health outcomes, and helped reduce racial disparities.
  • Trump’s effort to overturn the ACA risks raising out-of-pocket prescription drug costs for many seniors on Medicare.
  • Trump’s effort to repeal the ACA could also weaken resident protections at nursing homes, limit options for seniors, and strip health care from employees.
Trump has repeatedly touted the announcement of a new health care plan, but it’s been “ weeks” away for years — and no plan has ever materialized.
  • JUNE of 2019 — TRUMP: “I’m going have a plan over the next month—”
  • JULY of 2020 — TRUMP “You heard me yesterday. We’re signing a health care plan within two weeks, a full and complete health care plan that the Supreme Court decision on DACA gave me the right to do. So we’re going to solve—we’re going to sign an immigration plan, a health care plan, and various other plans. And nobody will have done what I’m doing in the next four weeks.”
  • JULY of 2020 — TRUMP: “Well, we’re going to be doing a healthcare plan. We’re going to be doing a very inclusive healthcare plan. I’ll be signing it sometime very soon.”
  • AUGUST of 2020 — TRUMP: “We're going to be introducing a tremendous healthcare plan sometime prior — hopefully, prior to the end of the month.”
  • AUGUST of 2020 — TRUMP: “Over the next two weeks, I’ll be pursuing a major executive order requiring health insurance companies to cover all pre-existing conditions for all customers.”
  • OCTOBER of 2020 — TRUMP: “It’s fully developed. It’s going to be announced very soon.”
Trump’s continued failure to mount an effective pandemic response has exacerbated the public health consequences of coronavirus, which has killed more than 225,000 Americans.
  • Trump has failed to lead a national response to the coronavirus, resulting in surging cases and deaths, and the U.S. experiencing the world’s worst coronavirus outbreak.
  • Trump failed to implement a national testing strategy, even suggesting he told aides to slow down the testing to paint a rosier picture, and he refuses to take responsibility for his response.
  • The U.S. response to the virus was hindered by the Trump administration’s early testing failures, and months later, states are still struggling to get testing supplies in the absence of a national strategy.
  • Trump was slow to ensure that the nation had the medical supplies it needed to combat the virus and those shortages are still plaguing the country’s response.
  • At every turn, Trump has downplayed the virus, refused to listen to medical experts, and put his incompetence on full display.
  • Trump prematurely pushed to relax coronavirus restrictions, without ensuring it could be done safely, when the virus was still circulating at a high rate, leading to a summer resurgence that set new records
  • Cases are surging in states across the country, with the U.S. hitting record-high numbers of new cases and 15 states adding more cases in the past week than in any other seven-day stretch.
  • And now, as Trump continues to downplay the threat of the virus and lie that it’s “going away,” his White House essentially admitted that they have given up on trying to contain its spread.
