New Questions regarding the Implementation and Roll-out of the new VFA site

Is creating a "My Voter Account" in the new VFA site, the same as choosing to Join Democrats Abroad?

Not at all -- Voter Accounts are non-partisan, and just make it possible for the voter to print, modify, and manage their personal, private voter information. Only you have access to the information in your Voter Account -- DA does not see, access, or manage your personal data unless you explicitly give us approval to do so by joining DA or selecting one of the other "keep me informed" options on that page.

For Americans abroad interested in joining DA, and/or getting information about election-related activities, separate options to join are provided. Joining DA allows us to direct information to you concerning your voting state and voting district while you are living and working abroad, as well as provide you with opportunities to engage with the international DA community. Your member information is protected, and is not shared with any third party. You can access, modify and delete your information in your DA member account at any time.

Will DA be able to regularly export a full dataset of all registrations for a given period?

Yes, we have developed a secure method Online Data Transfer Module for what we all PII (Personally Identifiable Information – data that allows you to identify an individual and other potentially private information about them.)
This system should be restricted to an approved login. The idea is that you also don't want this PII data moving around loosely with multiple people able to go to the source and grab it. It is purposely designed so that the approved user has a login and can download the new data acquired since the previous download - once. After that, how you protect it and use it is your business.

Can we add custom check-box fields to voter input (Would you like to join DA?, are you on a student Study Abroad program?)

Yes, Check Box Questions like "would you like to join DA" and "are you on a Study Abroad program" are doable and are far less of an issue than say, Radio Button questions or Free Text boxes (which we don't support). Onscreen text changes are also no issue – but again, within reason.

Will this data be included in the voter file export?

Yes.

Will we be able to map the customized site onto our own VoteFromAbroad.org domain address?

Yes. You would  point the domain to us - www.VoteFromAbroad.org, which would point to our servers.

Will we be able to customize and brand all of the graphic and textual elements of the site to reflect our color scheme and logo branding?

We can skin the site to meet your design requirements. Your banner, your colors, etc. As for changing our existing layout and all graphic elements – there is again, a level of reasonableness. We cannot redesign every element, but I think we can create a very nice consistency between the main site and the hosted site. Please take a look at the applications in the US Vote site, and you will see the general design.

Will we be able to provide multiple users with access to reporting statistics? or will we only have a single, shared user account?

We have a backend Reporting Dashboard for aggregate marketing data excluding all PII. Yes, absolutely, you can have multiple users. We have documentation for the Reporting Dashboard, which will be provided. We can also have a researcher train you in groups. (For the confidential PII Online Data Transfer Module, normally you are provided with one controlled login. See question 1.)

Will we be able to insert our own Google Analytics code, for visitor tracking?

"You can install multiple instances of the Google Analytics tracking code on your web pages to send data to multiple properties in your account. Not all configurations are supported," but this should be ok.

Are campaign-specific directory URLs an option to be able to track specific promotional campaigns? e.g: votefromabroad.org/sc/ for a campaign directed at South Carolina voters.

We can do this, if it is state specific we could create a mapping or you could use a query string or use analytics...

Would we be able to pay the fee in installments (i.e.: Quarterly)?

We can set up a quarterly payment plan, sure. However, we would need the setup fee up front as we must pay suppliers/contractors. The setup fee will depend on how much new custom work you are asking for a major amount of custom work up front.

What is the URL for the version DA will be skinning ?

https://www.usvotefoundation.org/vote/VoterInformation.htm

Approximately how many US States or other organizations have adopted the OVF platform for overseas voter registration?

Nineteen full sites: 8 states, 2 counties, 6 voter outreach orgs, 2 campaigns, 1 corporation
In addition, we supply Election Official Data to Four national organizations.

What are a few of the flagship examples that can be used as client references, if needed?

State of Minnesota, State of New York (or any of the states we've worked with), National Association of Secretaries of State, the League of Women Voters, FAWCO – and any number of others.

Would we be able to contribute to the process of defining and recommending annual changes and improvements?

Sure – we are always interested in feedback, ideas, and improvements.

Can we have contractual guarantees of the confidentiality of our registered voter's personal data?

Absolutely.
