1. NEW DNC AD: Trump Attacks Fallen Soldiers and Wounded Veterans

The DNC War Room released a new television ad yesterday, “Sacrifice,” that blasts Trump for his long record of disparaging comments about America’s service members.

  • Trump’s attacks on service members and veterans are beyond disgusting — they’re un-American.

  • Trump inherited everything and sacrificed nothing, and has no respect for those who have given everything for our country.

    • Brave Americans who have sacrificed life and limb in defense of our freedoms are not “losers” or “suckers.”

    • America’s heroes deserve a president who respects their courage. Sadly, they do not have one now.

    • Trump can’t defend his alleged comments, so instead he’s attacking military leadership.

  • The Atlantic’s report has already been confirmed by numerous outlets, including Fox News. And Trump can’t hide his long history of disparaging military service and denigrating American heroes like John McCain.

  • As a military family, Joe and Jill Biden know the burden shared by those who give everything to our country. It’s why they’ve always prioritized the health and well-being of service members, veterans, and military families.

2. Labor and Workers in Trump’s Recession

Today, Vice President Biden will travel to Warren, MI to deliver remarks on his plan to ensure the future is Made in America by all of America’s workers.

  • Trump’s economy is working for his rich friends and big corporations, but American workers have been left behind.

    • Millions have lost their jobs — and with it their pay, health insurance, and the dignity of work.

  • It didn’t have to be this bad: Six months into this crisis, more than 13 million Americans are out of work, and more than half the jobs lost haven’t come back. Trump is on track to be the worst jobs president in recorded history.

    • More than 100,000 small businesses have closed for good.

    • While other countries have largely recovered, job growth has slowed due to Trump’s failed COVID response.

  • Nearly 1 in 5 workers (29 million Americans) are receiving unemployment assistance as mass layoffs continue.

    • For 24 weeks, more workers have filed unemployment claims than any week during any previous recession.

  • Trump broke his promises to rebuild American manufacturing:

  • Workers deserve a president who will put them first. Biden and Harris will invest in American manufacturing and innovation to ensure that the future is made in America.

    • Biden and Harris will establish an Offshoring Tax Penalty and a “Made in America” Tax Credit, and close the Trump Offshoring Loopholes.

    • They will ensure that when we spend taxpayer money we buy American products and support American jobs.

3. Six Million Coronavirus Cases While Trump Politicizes Vaccines

  • The U.S. has over 6.3 million confirmed cases and 190,000 deaths because Trump has failed to contain COVID-19.

    • Trump doesn’t listen to experts, doesn’t take it seriously, and doesn’t have a plan.

    • The White House has effectively admitted that its containment strategy has failed, and now is following through with Trump’s demand to “slow the testing down.”

  • Trump has failed to keep children and families safe: half a million kids have been diagnosed with COVID-19 as Trump demands schools reopen unsafely and claims children are “virtually immune” from the disease.

  • We are just 4% of the world’s population but have nearly 25% of the world’s cases and over 20% of deaths.

  • Trump is playing politics with our lives. He is putting his reelection ahead of Americans’ safety by pushing for a vaccine before Election Day instead of following the science to ensure it’s safe and effective.

    • We cannot allow a repeat of Trump’s testing and PPE fiascos when it comes to a vaccine. The stakes are too high.

    • Dr. Fauci and other experts have called Trump’s promises of a vaccine before Election Day “unlikely” and “very remote.”

    • Even pharmaceutical companies have had to publicly respond to Trump’s politicization of a vaccine.

  • Joe Biden will rely on science and experts to guide his coronavirus response, including in developing a vaccine. Biden and Harris have laid out three questions his administration must answer so every American can have confidence in a safe and effective vaccine:

    • What criteria will be used to ensure a COVID-19 vaccine meets the scientific standard of safety and efficacy?

    • Who will validate that the administration’s decision to greenlight a COVID-19 vaccine is driven by science and not political motivation?

    • What is the plan to allocate and distribute the COVID-19 vaccine to Americans cost-free, safely, equitably, and without politics?
