Dear Fellow DNC Member,

You should have been notified recently by DNC Secretary Jason Rae that one item of business before the full membership of the Democratic National Committee at next week’s meeting in San Francisco will be the ratification of outstanding nominations and appointments.

In May, our finance chair, Henry Munoz, announced he was stepping down after serving the DNC for more than six years. Following his announcement, I was proud to ask Chris Korge, a longtime and prolific fundraiser for Democratic candidates and progressive causes, to serve in an interim role so our fundraising would stay on its historic pace.

In the short time he’s served in this interim capacity, Chris has blown me away with his relentless commitment to our party and our candidates. He stepped aside from running his multiple businesses, has been on the road nonstop to meet with more than 50 major donors and prospects across 15 cities, and has personally brought in more than $1.5 million to help us make the early investments we’ll need to beat Donald Trump and continue building our 57 state infrastructure.

Chris has also attended more than 20 finance events across the country and headlined numerous National Finance Committee calls. Under Chris’ leadership, the finance team has already brought in over 150 new National Finance Committee members - increasing the membership by 50% in just a few short months.

Knowing Chris’ track record, however, this should come as no surprise. Chris has been a major donor and fundraiser for numerous Democratic candidates and progressive causes at both the national and local level, raising nearly $100 million for Democratic candidates in his lifetime. While his service to the party spans nearly four decades, he most recently served as a top fundraiser for Andrew Gillum's historic gubernatorial campaign in Florida where he personally raised over $3 million. He’s been a major donor and raiser for every Democratic presidential campaign over the last 25 years, and was one of the top fundraisers for Secretary Clinton’s presidential campaign, raising nearly $10 million for her campaign.

Chris is also a proud father and grandfather and a second-generation Lebanese American who calls Miami, Florida home.

It is with pride in his work and humility toward the challenges ahead of us that I ask you to support Chris Korge’s candidacy to remove “interim” from his title and make him our finance chair. I know he will make you proud, as he has already made me.

In addition to supporting Chris’ appointment, I hope that you’ll support the entire slate of at-large appointments to fill other vacancies, including our former finance chair,  Henry Munoz, who has continued to raise resources, contribute to our party, and serve as a leader in our shared movement. Your ratification of these appointments will help the DNC and the broader Democratic ecosystem conduct our critical business and elect Democrats up and down the ballot across the country.

As always, thank you for your service to the Democratic Party.

Best,

Tom
