DA and VFA Short URL and QR-code Requests

DA Leaders can now request a custom Trackable Short URL or a QR-code for use in SMS-messages, e-mail broadcasts, for printed promotional materials (with a QR-code), or in social media campaigns.

A Trackable Short URL is:

  • a custom web link that uses one of DA’s alternate domain addresses, either:
    demsabroad.org or voteabroad.org

  • each link is unique for the individual use-case, and it is shorter than the full address

  • the link is trackable so that we can count approximately how many times a visitor uses that link to reach the destination page

  • the link includes Google Analytics tracking codes, so that usage patterns are reported in our website analytics

  • the link still takes visitors to a page on our actual websites, either:
    www.DemocratsAbroad.org or www.VoteFromAbroad.org or even another destination, like a Google Form.

  • can be converted into a scannable QR-code to send visitors to the page by scanning the QR-code image with their mobile phone

Some example use cases include:

  • Create a scannable QR-code for your CC donations flyer to share at events

  • Create a VFA Short URL and QR-code for stickers or postcards that you distribute at venues frequented by Americans in your area

  • Include both a QR-code and a Short URL in a postal mailed letter to members who are not responding to your membership e-mails
